Physical, vocal & imaginative tools for character transformation
What does it take to truly step into someone else’s shoes? This one-day intensive explores practical, playful tools for moving beyond your habitual ways of speaking, moving and responding to discover the physical, vocal and imaginative life of a character.
Working from both the inside out and the outside in, we’ll experiment with body, voice, senses and imagination to make bolder choices and create characters who feel specific, embodied and alive.

In this two-part workshop, actors will be paired up and given a scene to work on together over two weeks.
We’ll explore what happens when you stop planning how a scene should go and start really working with the person in front of you: listening, responding, following impulses, taking risks and letting yourself be changed by your partner, exploring concepts of “channel-based” or “partner-responsive” acting.
With a week between sessions to rehearse, play and try things out, we’ll dig deeper into the text while building scenes that feel connected, spontaneous and alive.
